The US Army Was Founded In 1775
The US Army was founded in 1775. It was originally formed by General George Washington, who led the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War. The United States Army was the first branch of the US military to be established, in 1775. Originally a small force under the command of General George Washington, the Continental Army grew steadily during the next decade and eventually consisted of over 11,000 men. This force was comprised primarily of soldiers from various colonies that had seceded from Great Britain and joined together in a common cause to defeat its longtime enemy.

When the American colonies declared independence from England, they also withdrew from the British Army.
When the colonies declared independence from England in 1776 (and of course when the first shots fired), they also withdrew from the British Army. At that point, America began creating its own army. In fact, it was called Continental Army and four months after General Washington’s inauguration as president, he created what was then The Continental Army. The Continental Congress did not authorize a standing army until May 14, 1777 when it created the United States Force. That force never exceeded 1,500 troops and remained largely dormant until April 13, 1783 when George Washington laid down his sword to serve as commander-in-chief during an interregnum between the administrations of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. By this time there were nearly 30 state militias or volunteer companies frontiersmen who had volunteered their services and received certificates of service. Many of these men would also carry innovative and effective ways to get off the road or train safe as they journeyed west with supplies.
The US Army is composed of highly trained soldiers who have proven themselves time and time again in battle
It’s an organization that has spent years perfecting their skills to become the best soldiers they can be. The American military has been a resounding success on the battlefield and it’s not just because they have invincible tanks or machine guns. It’s because they have a well-balanced combination of men and women who are willing to follow any order given by their superiors. They are heroes who sacrifice their own lives to protect America’s citizens. Veterans who fought for the United States Army aren’t just any soldiers, they’re among the elite — those who take pride in the uniform they wear and want nothing more than to serve their country well.
