The United States Army comprises the largest branch of the U.S. military and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. It is charged with protecting and defending the borders of the United States, conducting military operations in support of those borders, and developing military capability for future military operations. The US Army is unique in its organization: each branch has a distinctive organization, mission and function.

The United States Army is one of the most revered military organizations on Earth. It’s been a mainstay in the defense of this nation for over two centuries, and it grew in popularity before the War of 1812 thanks to Francis Scott Key. Its ranks have seen conflict and sacrifice time and time again, and its ranks continue to expand under President Trump’s new troop surge. In fact, it currently stands as the largest branch of the U.S. military, with some 17+ million enlisted soldiers collectively engaged in missions throughout 180+ countries worldwide.

 

The commitment and courage displayed by Soldiers inspires respect and confidence in America’s Army and the American people it defends.

Whether they’re deployed or stateside, Soldiers recognize their role as the tip of the spear. They have a well-defined purpose: to protect and defend America. They’ve made a commitment within a network of people who practice excellence in everything they do. This dedication and courage enables them to accomplish what few others can — inspire respect and confidence in those around them, even during the darkest hours of battle. Every American should be proud to call these men and women Soldiers…because the commitment and courage displayed by Soldiers inspires respect, confidence in America’s Army and the American people it defends.

 

Soldiers embody selfless service and patriotism, meeting physical and moral challenges with personal courage and integrity.

The U.S. Army Soldiers are the backbone to America’s global defense. The soldiers carry out their duties across all branches of the US military including special operations forces, engineers, medical corpsmen, combat engineers and more. They turn their thoughts and dreams into goals, and the threats of the world can’t stop them. They are ready to serve their country and protect its red, white and blue values at home and abroad.

 

They accept responsibility for their actions and take care of each other.

The US Army has a long history of accepting responsibility for actions, both big and small. It’s the most professional branch of our military and the most likely to accept responsibility when it could be avoided. The US Army accepts responsibility for the actions of its members, whether they are in training or on the battlefield. Soldiers carry their fellow soldiers and care for each other during battle, disaster and chaos.
