US Army Number
US Army is a proud and respected military force, serving our nation since 1775. Although the numbers seem low, US Army has more men and women in uniform than any other country in the world. Sometimes you may find it hard to understand why some people would wear this number. But it’s because they believe in their country, their ethics, and most importantly their nation’s own traditions and symbols.

The US Army is the largest branch of the US military.
The modern day Army is based on the structure of the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War, which broke up into six regiments: infantry, artillery, engineer, commissary, hospital and provost departments. These regiments consisted of two or more battalions that were commanded by a colonel. The U.S. Army was not recognized as an official branch until after World War I when Congress passed a bill creating the National Defense Act in 1916 which gave it its own framework and organization within the United States Department of War.

Headquartered at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.
The U.S. Army is an active force that is headquartered at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. Since its establishment, it has undergone changes and adjustments for bettering itself and for serving the nation’s needs. An organization that was founded as a single army during World War II has expanded over the years to a force of almost one million men and women who are able to fight anywhere at anytime on national security.

Nations around the world cooperate with the Army as part of NATO and other alliances.
The Army is a large organization that has a large impact on the world. The US Army participates in military operations with other nations as part of NATO and other allies. This includes training regional armies in combat situations, as well as conducting ongoing operations with traditional allies (Japan, Australia, etc.) The US Army is a highly trained, professional (and sometimes very deadly) fighting force that makes use of the most advanced technologies and combat units in the world. The US Army employs nearly 1 million soldiers in over 100 countries. Not only does the army defend its own borders, but it also helps to maintain peace in other regions as well.
Defense budgets are a political hot potato these days.
Defense budgets and their associated wars have always been a political hot potato, but there is something on the horizon that may throw a monkey wrench into the works. For years, Defense Department officials have told Congress that they need more funding to repair, upgrade and sustain their aging systems. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said in April 2012 that it would require an additional $600 billion dollars over the next decade to meet some of those requirements. But now that effort has hit a snag as members of Congress are talking about cutting spending on a piece of equipment or weapon system after billions were spent on efforts for congressional approval.
The US Army is an important branch of our military that requires attention and resources for it to perform its mission successfully
It is the largest branch in terms of size with over 1.4 million active duty soldiers and reservists. The Army maintains a strong presence around the world with more than 800 bases located in 38 countries. The United States Army is a powerful force that exists to protect our freedom and our way of life. It ensures that even the toughest enemies can feel safe under the wings of our mighty eagle with its proud symbol: the bald eagle. The US Army is made up of several branches, each one with its own duties and responsibilities. But all are important for the sake of teamwork, which plays a critical role in ensuring our great nation’s safety and well-being.
