North QLD Cowboys
The North Queensland Cowboys are a professional rugby league team based in the northern city of Townsville. Formed in 1995, the Cowboys were originally known as the North Sydney Bears which was then the name of their second team. The team changed its name to the North Queensland Cowboys and adopted a blue and gold themed logo on 3 November 1997. The Cowboys were founded as a rugby league club, but they later started playing in Super League starting with their first game in 1998.
Team Head Coach: Paul Green
Paul Green is a professional rugby league player who has been the head coach of Country in the NRL Competition since 2017. He began his career with North Queensland Cowboys and became its head coach after the club was rebranded to reflect its new ownership structure, which was set up by the ARL Commission and the new consortium headed by John Grant and Cal Cutting.
Team Captain: Michael Morgan
The team captain of the North Queensland Cowboys is a man who goes by the name of Michael Morgan. His playing career began with the Melbourne Storm in 2012, before moving to New South Wales as a part of the Newcastle Knights. He then returned home to play for Brisbane Broncos and was there for more than four years before heading back to his native side, this time going by his birth name Michael Jennings.
Team Star Player: Jason Taumalolo
NRL forward Jason Taumalolo ($16.50) is a key member of the North Queensland Cowboys (NRL) team and one of the most dominant forwards in the game today. He is commonly known as the ‘Sea of Red’ after he was awarded with his jersey number (16) on Super League’s biggest night out, The Night N’ Day Party back in 2013.

The team foundation year is a time to focus on the future of the sport. It is used by the NRL to build programs, objectives and support systems for Rugby League in different regions. This creates awareness of the game in all areas of Australia.
