History
Dragons are the only team to have never been relegated from the NRL. We believe this is due to our unique way of playing, not just kicking and running with the ball but also a lot more psychological rugby which has been used by other teams over the years. Dragons history dates back as far as 1908 when they were known as Newtown.
Origins
In 1994, the National Rugby League (NRL) was formed from a merger between the Australian Rugby League and the Sydney Roosters. The first game played under the new banner was between St George Dragons and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. The name Dragons has been closely associated with Australian football and rugby league ever since.
Logo
A logo that embodies the passion of their team and a play on the shape of their horns. The two-toned dragon evokes speed while maintaining strength and protection. The bold color scheme gives it a cohesive feel without being overbearing or distracting from the main focus of the logo: a strong, powerful, protective dragon cresting a wave.
