The Columbus Blue Jackets (previously the Minnesota North Stars) were an American professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League’s Central Division. Based out of Columbus, Ohio, they were formed in 2000. The Blue Jackets were founded by former players and management of the Minnesota North Stars franchise, which had relocated on June 10th, 2000 to Dallas as the Stars joined their counterparts, the NHL’s Pacific Division.
