The Canberra Raiders is a professional Australian rugby league club based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Founded as the New South Wales Rugby Football League’s Illawarra and South Coast Magpies on 27 May 1982, it became an affiliate club of the governing body in 1988 when the NSWRL was reconstituted into one national entity, the Australian Rugby League (ARL).
