Arizona Cardinals Football are a professional American football team based in Glendale, Arizona. They are members of the National Football League (NFL) and play their home games at State Farm Stadium. The Cardinals were founded as the Morgan Athletic Club in 1898, and are the oldest continuously run professional football team in the United States. The Cardinals were founded in 1898 as an amateur football team and were a charter member of the NFL in 1920. The team has won two NFL championships, both while it was based in Chicago. The first occurred in 1925, but is the subject of controversy, with supporters of the Pottsville Maroons believing that Pottsville should have won the title. Their second title, and the first to be won in a championship game, came in 1947, nearly two decades before the first Super Bowl. Since winning the title in 1947, the Cardinals have qualified for the playoffs just seven times and have won only four playoff games, three of which were at home. In 2012, the team won four of their last five games to finish with an 11–5 record and make the playoffs for the first time since 2009. They lost in the Wild Card round to the Green Bay Packers, 20–45.
